Taylor Anderson-Heide, 30, of Broomall will make a debut in the winter games.
As America takes to the global stage in Milan, Italy, there will be one local native representing the Greater Philadelphia area.
Taylor Anderson-Heide, 30, of Broomall, is a Marple-Newtown graduate. She will make her Olympic debut in women’s curling, in what PennLive.com called “the realization of a lifelong pursuit.”
“Anderson-Heide started in curling at an early age with twin sister Sarah, taught by father Wayne,” said the article. “Her training occurred largely at the Philadelphia Curling Club.”
Anderson-Heide is no stranger to the sport, nor the big stage.
“At 16, the Anderson sisters competed for Team USA at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games Innsbruck, finishing fifth in mixed team competition,” said the article published Feb. 3. “Within the next four years, Taylor won back-to-back junior national titles and a silver medal at the 2016 junior world championships. Anderson-Heide went on to the University of Minnesota.”
With a variety of partners, Anderson-Heide has taken her fair share of titles, too.
“Anderson-Heide is a five-time national champion, twice in mixed doubles with Korey Dropkin (2015, 2018), twice in women’s curling on a team with twin sister Sarah (2019, 2021), and once in 2025 as the lead for Tara Peterson and Tabitha Peterson Lovick,” said PennLive. “Anderson-Heide will team with the Peterson sisters and Cory Thiesse in the women’s competition.”
Women’s curling events begin Thursday, Feb. 12 and continue through Sunday, Feb. 22. Local viewers can tune into NBC10, via Xfinity/X1 Flex, or via FanView by Comcast. The Olympics will also be streaming on Peacock.
