Bryn Mawr has welcomed a new restaurant with a grand opening.
Bill Kirkland and Sharon Purser of Berwyn recently held a grand opening of the newest Love and Honey Fried Chicken. The Bryn Mawr location is the third, following the original in Philadelphia and the first franchised location in Newtown, Bucks County.
In a press release on its opening, Love and Honey Fried Chicken was described as a premium fast-casual destination known for its chef-driven approach and heartfelt hospitality. The new Bryn Mawr location is at 1111 W. Lancaster Ave.
The original eatery was founded in Philadelphia in 2017 by chefs Laura and Todd Lyons. Love & Honey Fried Chicken combines culinary expertise with a passion for community. The restaurant has become known for its hand-dredged fried chicken, house-made sauces, and signature desserts.
During a recent visit to the Bryn Mawr location, Purser and Kirkland said they decided to enter the restaurant business after both retired from their longtime jobs, she from NASA and he from a company called International Flavors and Fragrances.
“At Love & Honey, we’ve created a place where exceptional food and genuine hospitality meet,” Purser said in a recent press release. “We’re thrilled to bring this concept to Bryn Mawr and share what makes Love & Honey so special with our new neighbors.”
Kirkland said he knew one of the chefs who started the original Love and Honey through his past employment.
The food is culinary-inspired, everything is hand-dipped and hand-breaded, and it’s all made to order, Kirkland said.
Nearly everything on the menu is made in-house at their location.
With convenient pickup and delivery options, Love & Honey Fried Chicken is excited to serve Bryn Mawr with the same quality and care that has made it a beloved destination in Philadelphia.
Love and Honey Fried Chicken’s Bryn Mawr location is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
