Penncrest High School students will host their second annual community Carnival for a Cure on Saturday, March 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Penncrest High School gym, located at 134 Barren Road, in Media. The family-friendly event is free to attend and open to the public.

Carnival for a Cure will feature a variety of activities including carnival games, food, live music, raffles, food trucks, vendors, and bounce houses. All proceeds raised at the event will benefit the Foundation Fighting Blindness Philadelphia Chapter, an organization dedicated to funding research and treatments for vision loss and blindness.

The event is organized by 4 the Vision, a student-run club at Penncrest High School with over 250 student volunteers committed to spreading awareness about visual impairments and supporting vision research. The club was founded with the goal of educating the community while creating fun, inclusive events that bring Rose Tree Media School District and Delaware County together for a meaningful cause.

“Our mission with 4 the Vision is to combine community, creativity, and compassion,” said Parker Caruso, President of 4 the Vision. “Carnival for a Cure allows us to raise awareness about vision health while giving families a fun place to gather and support a cause extremely close to me and my family.”

Caruso said that he’s thankful for the high school’s ongoing efforts to be helpful.

"The Penncrest community has been so supportive with helping 4 the Vision Thrive! We can't thank them enough,” said Caruso.

This marks the second year of Carnival for a Cure, following a successful inaugural event last year that drew strong community support and raised over $9,000! Organizers hope to grow the event even larger this year by welcoming students, families, and local residents from across the area.

Admission to the carnival is free, and all ages are welcome. Donations and raffle participation will help further the mission of the Foundation Fighting Blindness and support ongoing research efforts.
