Two state troopers were injured on Feb. 7 when their patrol car was struck by a suspected drunk driver in Nether Providence Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Police said that the incident occurred when the two troopers initiated a traffic stop on Interstate 476 northbound, near the Media/Swarthmore exit, around 3:30 a.m. While the patrol car was stopped, a vehicle driven by Brookhaven resident Kamil Harris struck the troopers’ car while traveling at a high speed.
Both troopers suffered injuries; they were taken to Riddle Hospital for evaluation and later released.
When responding to the scene, other state troopers interviewed Harris and determined he was driving under the influence of alcohol, state police said. Harris was arrested and transported to the PSP Media station to be charged and arraigned.
