The entire Philadelphia region continues to dig out from a massive snow storm, and more may be on the way this weekend. But thanks to a thoughtful resident, the Marple Township Police Department doesn’t have to stress patrol car care during Mother Nature’s wrath.

According to a department post on the MTPD’s Crime Watch page, Ed Lain, owner of Lazer Grafix Design described as “a long-time great friend and supporter of Marple Township” went above and beyond last week donating some care kits to the department. Lain, who has supported the MTPD in the past as well, “wanted to make sure our officers were prepared for whatever winter weather is headed our way,” said the department’s Chief of Police Brandon Graeff.

“Milk, bread, and eggs won't keep our patrol fleet road worthy, but these brushes, de-icer, and gloves will,” said Graeff via Crime Watch. “Thank you, Ed!”

Lain, who has over 30 years experience in graphic design and advertising, according to his site, has also worked to support his community in years past.

“I am passionate about each project I work on and my goal is to create designs that not only look good but also serve a purpose,” said Lain on his business’s site. Lain is a 2010 and 2017 graduate of the MTPD’s Citizen’s Police Academy. He was also named Volunteer of the Year in 2017 by the Pennsylvania Crime Prevention Officers Association

The Broomall-based department was incredibly thankful for the thoughtful gift.
