Parents and community members are on edge after learning about an inappropriate AI-generated video depicting several Radnor High School students.
According to news reports, Principal Dr. Joseph MacNamara sent an email to the community last week saying he wanted to address “concerns and rumors regarding an AI-generated video that was reported to depict several of our students in an inappropriate manner.”
MacNamara’s email said that the families of the students involved have been contacted and provided with support and that the school contacted Radnor Township Police and began an internal investigation.
“We understand how upsetting and serious this situation is, and we want to assure you that we are treating it with the highest level of urgency and care,” MacNamara reportedly wrote. The principal also wrote that while officials are still “learning all of the details” about the incident, “"we felt it was important to communicate with you directly so you have the facts and know that student safety and well-being remain our highest priorities.”
One parent who spoke to 6ABC said she worried about “the psychological safety of our daughters that are going to school every day, that are now looking over their shoulder.”
Another community member, Meredith Criswell, remarked that “it's so incredibly dangerous for this to be happening.”
