We may only be halfway through the 2025-26 school year, but it won’t be long before that new school year is upon us. For some, it is simply the next year in a succession. For others it is the very first time boarding the big yellow school bus.

If you have a kindergarten student, excitedly preparing for that very first year, now is the time to register for the upcoming school year. For the Main Line’s three public school districts, the period for registration of new students is now open online.

If you are unsure of your exact school district location, you can visit the maps here. These interactive maps allow you to zoom in to precise locations to determine where district lines may fall near you.

Radnor Township School District

Registration for the 2026-27 school year in the Radnor Township School District opened for all new K-12 students on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026.

If you have any questions about the registration process or the required documents, please contact Central Registrar, Amelia Dougherty at email [email protected]. Radnor utilizes Power School, and parents must first create an account with the application to begin a registration.

Directions in both English and Spanish are available online here.

School District of Haverford Township

Haverford Township utilizes Smore for enrollment. That can be found online here

To register, a new student must be a resident of the School District of Haverford Township (proof of residency is required) and meet age requirements. Kindergarten students must be 5 years of age before Sept. 1 of the school term, while first-grade students must be 6 years of age before Sept. 1 of the school term.

“Families can upload registration documents,” said the site. “While uploading these documents is not required for the initial submission, they must be provided before your submission can be approved. You will continue to have access to the registration portal to upload documents at a later time.”

For HTSD, if you are registering a kindergarten or first-grade student, a School District of Haverford Township (SDHT) representative will be in touch with you to confirm your child’s registration is complete or to request additional information beginning in February.

“Due to the high volume of registration submissions, please allow sufficient time for us to review your submission,” said the district’s site. “AM/PM Kindergarten assignment letters will only be sent to households for whom the registration process, which includes submitting the online portion and providing all additional documents, has been completed by April 30.”

If you have questions or require assistance, please contact the SDHT Registrar’s Office at 610-853-5900, extension 7139.

Lower Merion School District

The Lower Merion School District utilizes a secure online application for new student registration called PowerSchool Enrollment. You will be able to upload the required documents for registration within the application online.

The child (family’s residence) must live fulltime within the district to enroll. Directions in English and Spanish, along with Frequently Asked Questions, and an Early Intervention connection can all be found on the site.

Documents required to enroll include a proof of the child’s birth (such as a birth certificate, passport, or baptism certificate), the parent’s photo identification, and two proofs of residency, such as a lease, deed, or utility bill.

Students will need to take a physical and dental exam and submit an immunization record.
