Just in time for long-awaited spring weather, the Radnor Township Parks & Recreation Department is giving local seniors a chance to discover the benefits of walking.

Offered in partnership with the Arthritis Foundation, the six-week Walk With Ease program aims to teach people ages 60 and older how to safely make physical activity part of their everyday lives — which can both reduce arthritis pain and boost overall health.

Occurring every Tuesday from April 14 to May 19 from 10 a.m. to noon, sessions typically start off with a welcome and announcements, then proceed to discussion topics, sharing of health information, and stretching and strengthening exercises in the Radnorshire room at the Radnor Township Municipal Building. Next is the main event: participants hit the Radnor trail, followed by a cool-down and “motivational tips and tools.”

Local seniors can register online for the free program, or they can email [email protected] or call 610-688-5600.
