Police in Radnor Township have charged a juvenile in connection to an incident involving the use of artificial intelligence to generate inappropriate images of fellow students.
“After being alerted in December of 2025 of the possible use of AI to generate non-consensual sexualized imagery of multiple juveniles that occurred within Radnor Township, the Radnor Police Department conducted an investigation in collaboration with the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office, and specifically the Delaware County ICAC Detective Division,” the police department said in a Jan. 23 press release. (ICAC refers to Internet Crimes Against Children.)
“As a result of the investigation, a juvenile offender was charged with the crime of harassment for their conduct,” the press release continued. “Please be alerted to the dangers of AI and that criminal use of it will be investigated and charged appropriately.”
Dr. Joseph MacNamara, the principal of Radnor High School, had emailed parents in December to address “concerns and rumors regarding an AI-generated video that was reported to depict several of our students in an inappropriate manner.” He said at the time that the school contacted Radnor police about the issue and began its own internal investigation.
